A number of new gigs have been confirmed, for Lancaster, Liverpool, Manchester and Leicester, all coming up within the next few months. There's also my farewell gig in Lancaster in November, which will be my last gig in the area for the foreseeable future and also my last gig with Jave, Jacob and Sean, as unfortunately I will have to disband the current band line-up when I move to Cardiff. Go to the gigs page for all of the info you'll need.

I'm visiting my hometown of Cardiff for a week in August and I have just added a gig to the Gigs page. I'm hoping to have another gig or two sorted for when I'm down in South Wales, which I will add to the page if and when I get them, so keep an eye out for more gigs on here or on my MySpace. In fact if you know of any promoters or if you promote yourself then feel free to email me.

Calmer Than Karma EP is now officially available on CD and MP3 by clicking on the link on the right. The EP launch gig was a major success and a great gig to boot. It was Jacob Cordingley's last performance with us as he's moving back to Manchester... I'd like to thank him for his dedicated input with gigs and the EP and the guys and I wish him the best of luck with Ok Deadman.

Click on the image on the right to order your copy of Calmer Than Karma EP today. There's also a link in there to buy individual MP3s via indiestore, if you only fancy grabbing a song or two instead.
However if it's a CD you're after, please be aware that postage and packaging are included in the following prices, which depend on where you are:
- In the UK, it's £2.00
- In Europe (not UK), it's £2.50 (c. €3.50)*
- Outside of Europe, £3.00 (c. $6.00, ¥650, etc.)*
A bargain huh? Simply click on the link and select the appropriate button. Payment is taken courtesy of PayPal, which is totally secure and absolutely free to sign up to. My debut release - Bad River EP - is now also the same price.
* Please note that the non-"£" prices above are only approximate and may differ slightly when purchasing; I've only obtained a rough idea using XE. PayPal will work out the amount properly from the "£" prices listed.
In other news, the Bio pages have been updated to coincide with my new press pack information. Also, don't forget about the EP launch gig in Lancaster... See the Gigs page for all of the info!

We have just finished recording the new songs and Jacko is in the process of mixing them for us. Be sure to keep an eye (and an ear) on my Myspace profile, as they will appear on there when they are done and ready.
By the way, I have a big solo gig coming up on Thursday 6th March in Lancaster, supporting the excellent Nels Andrews and Jon Redfern. Advance tickets are available HERE. Full details are available on the Gigs page.

Happy new year!
The Gigs page has been updated with more gigs and more info for the ones already listed. Also, on the Lyrics page you can now find the lyrics to 'Jouissance' and 'I'd Like To Share My Time With You'. Enjoy!

Due to work commitments and the fact that they are starting their own musical project, both Phil and Dave have departed from The So So KOs. In fact, for this reason, the name has gone back to the old "& Band" status for now, until we get a new name.
...But where two have left, three have arrived! Jacob Cordingley has joined the band on the keyboard, while Jacob Nizzola and Sean Monk have also joined, as percussionists. We've played two shows so far with this new line-up and I think that it's safe to say that we sound rather splendid!
We're taking Christmas off, but we already have a few gigs lined up in January. We'll be playing new songs, one of which we have previewed at the recent gigs. It's called 'Calmer Than Karma' and its lyrics can be found by clicking on the Lyrics link on the left of the screen.
From all of us, have a merry Christmas and a happy NY!

It feels like ages since the last update! Well anyway, it's official... We have a new bassist! It's Andy 'Jave' Smith, of Boo Boo Kiddy Fonc fame. The band and I are also working on some brand new songs, which we're hoping will be ready for the next few gigs.

The upcoming Lancaster dates have been updated with details and such - see the Gigs page!
07-09-07
The upcoming gig in Coniston has unfortunately been cancelled, but the Kendal gig is all go and there's a few in October at Lancaster Uni coming up. Click the Gigs link on your left for all the info.

I have two bits of important news...
Firstly, it makes me very sad to announce that drummer Luke Williams has officially left the band. This is because he is spending his second year of university life across the sea, at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Myself and the rest of the guys wish him the best of luck and a fantastic year away! Now Phil's told me that he would like to take his place and play the drums instead of bass, so that leaves an opening for a bassist. Do you see where I'm going with this? If you are interested or know anyone who might be, please Myspace me or email me.
Secondly, you can now purchase songs from the Bad River EP individually, as MP3s. Simply go to my profile on the NWB website and click on the trolley icon next to the song that you'd like to buy. They cost 75p each and you'll need a PayPal account to do it. You'll notice that The Monster We Became isn't on there - that's because you can download it for free at my Purevolume page.

The website's over a year old now, and what a year it's been! Keep an eye on that Gigs page for more updates and more gigs!
24-05-07
The Gigs page has been updated. There's also a new song in the Lyrics page; it's right at the bottom if you scroll down. Also, I forgot to mention last time that the Bio page has been updated with a small biography of the band, which includes links to their other bands and such.
25-04-07
Well it's been a bit quiet for a while now. Things are about to start picking up though! There's new gigs on the Gigs page and there's finally some photos of the band in the Gallery. Enjoy!
13-03-07
The band and I are taking a break from gigging until the end of April to concentrate on university commitments. There will be just one solo gig during this period, which is on the first night of the three-day fundraiser for Lancaster's Music Co-op.
19-02-07
Some of the upcoming gigs have changed in structure, times, who's playing, etc. Most notably, the radio show appearance tomorrow (Tuesday) is at 6pm now. Go to the Gigs page to see all of the changes...
11-02-07
A lot's been going on recently! Tommy has joined the band on lead electric guitar, and our last two gigs were absolute stormers.
There's also a Preston gig coming up, as well as a few in Lancaster. See the Gigs page for details and such.
24-01-07
I have gigs. You know where to look!
Oh and the band has a name now: "Steve Morgan & The So So KOs!"
09-01-07
Happy new year! Some gigs have been added to the Gigs page. I did a last-minute performance last week (my first gig of 2007) and there are some more coming up.
23-12-06
I have two live tracks from the gig on the 13th, which can be heard at my Myspace and Purevolume pages. Both of them have Luke on drums and Phil on bass, and one of them has Dave on sax as well! So be sure to check them out.
And finally, have a very merry Christmas and a happy intro into 2007!
03-12-06
There's two gigs left before Christmas, both in Lancaster and both with Phil on bass and Luke on drums. There might even be a bit of saxophone too... I guess we'll have to wait and see!
30-11-06
I've added a bassist to the line up as well! His name's Phil Bates and he plays for a local band called Swedenborg. Our first gig as a three-piece (with Luke on drums as well, of course) takes place tomorrow at Cartmel Bar. See the Gigs page for info!
19-11-06
Cheers to everyone who came to Pendle Bar last night. What a gig! There's at least one more gig on the way as well, so keep your eyes peeled on the Gigs page...
05-11-06
Gigs, gigs, gigs! I have three (maybe four) gigs lined up in Lancaster - both in the town and at the university - in the next month. Check out the Gigs page for further details!
25-10-06
There are two new photos in the Gallery, taken from the Hamcaster gig I did on 12th October. I've also got a solo gig in Lancaster on 1st November.
20-10-06
I have some big news: I've recruited a drummer! His name is Luke Williams and our debut gig as a duo will be at The Sugarhouse on Monday. The Ampersands and Ray's Music Exchange have now also been confirmed for this gig.
I have free drinks vouchers to give away for the night, so if you're definitely thinking of coming then feel free to get in touch and ask for some!
13-10-06
Just when I thought the Lancaster dates were coming to an end for now, I've been asked to perform at The Sugarhouse, the university's students union!
03-10-06
Two Lancaster gigs have appeared out of nowhere! One's at the Last Orders pub and the other is at the good ol' Yorkshire House. See the Gigs page!
14-09-06
Two gigs have been confirmed for Spain. See the Gigs link on the left of the screen for further details.
4-09-06
I'm please to report that Chris of Hamcaster has added me to the line-up of one of his upcoming events. It's about time I played a proper gig in Lancaster again!
In other news, my Myspace profile has reached 10,000 listens. I've said it once and I'll say it again: yay.
16-08-06
I'm back off to Leamington Spa in September. A lovely place! Also, there is talk of a gig or two while I'm off holidaying in Spain...
08-08-06
It's all been too quiet recently! To make up for the lack of gigs (and open mic appearances) I'll be at LA One this thursday (the 10th) for the weekly open mic night. Be there!
16-07-06
Apologies for the recent cancellations; I got hit by a harsh illness over the weekend. I really wanted to do both gigs, so I'm absolutely gutted that I couldn't. Hopefully there'll be more in the pipeline!
12-07-06
I've been offered a short-notice gig due to a band cancellation. It's tomorrow! See the Gigs page for details and such.
11-07-06
I've been asked to play at the Charity Duck Race in Lancaster. This one's definitely for the diary!
10-07-06
I got hold of the recording of my set at Feastival and it sounds good. You can hear three of the songs on my Purevolume page; they're the ones dated 25th June.
05-07-06
I have open mic news and a new gig; my first ever appearance in Preston! Please visit the Gigs page for more information.
28-06-06
The two recent Lancaster gigs went really well, but I'm afraid that's all for now. I'm looking at doing open mic night slots over the summer and any gig that comes my way, so if you have anything, please email me or message me on Myspace. My set at Feastival was recorded and some pics were taken, so I'll keep you posted about that.
19-06-06
I'm back home in Cardiff for a week, and the Buffalo Bar night has inspired me to do some more open mics in the area. If you're local (and happen to read this pretty much as I post this), there's a good chance that I'll be at Callaghans this coming Monday and the invite-only Playgroup night at Toucan Club on Wednesday. Be there or be square, apparently...
13-06-06
I've been asked to play the mighty Feastival at The Dell in Williamson Park in Lancaster! It is very exciting. See the Gigs page for details!
06-06-06
Welcome to the official website for Steve Morgan! It's been good to have my Myspace and Purevolume accounts, which are still in existence, but now I move onto something a little more formal and consistent. Please have a look around - the links are in that column on the left. Have fun!
